Microsoft adds party chat to Android and iOS Xbox app

After a brief beta testing period, Larry Hryb has announced that party chat is now available through the Xbox app on Android and iOS mobile devices. That ends with this new app support, untethering Xbox Live party chats so that players can experience them while out and about. I can't speak to what the sound quality would be like if you tried to communicate with your PUBG teammates from a phone sitting next to you on the couch.

Are you planning on joining an Xbox Party from your smartphone? With this feature, Xbox console owners can use their mobile device and the app to start a private party chat, join an existing chat, as well as message people using text. When you're a party, you'll be able to access party controls (including a mute option) and text chat. Notably, there's been a recent rise in the numbers of Discord users requesting an app for Xbox One, but that's unlikely to happen anytime soon unless Discord decides to build a native UWP app.

Take a listen to the warm, tender and absolutely lovely cover of " Moon River " via YouTube below. It's very Ocean, modernized with tech production and a chorus of soft voices a la Bon Iver.
