Chris Kiffin leaving FAU, brother Lane, for job with 49ers

FAU's pass rush was also terrific last season.

After spending one year at Florida Atlantic, Chris Kiffin, brother of head coach Lane Kiffin, is reportedly leaving for a job in the National Football League with the San Francisco 49ers.

In a transaction dated August 29, 2017, the shares were put up for sale at an average price of $4.62, raking in a sum of $116,179. The fund owned 49,042 shares of the credit services provider's stock after buying an additional 12,947 shares during the quarter.

Kiffin is the fourth member of the coaching staff to leave the program. Monte Kiffin spent decades in the league in various roles, and Lane Kiffin was famously the Oakland Raiders head coach - as well as the person Al Davis once berated using a projection screen. The Owls will be without both coordinators, with offensive coordinator Kendal Briles taking the same job in Houston. He was hired as FAU's defensive coordinator before the 2017 season and led a unit ranked 34th in points per game (22.7) and 63rd in yards per contest (389.6). Before joining Florida Atlantic, he spent five years as the defensive line coach at Ole Miss.

With spring practices set to begin March 20, the Owls will have to find a replacement quickly.
