Ricketts Family Member To Take Over RNC Fundraising

Republican donor and businessman Todd Ricketts is expected to take over Steve Wynn's position as finance chairman of the Republican National Committee, according to a Republican official with knowledge of the move.

Unnamed sources at the RNC are fanning reports of Rickett's selection to major media outlets, including CNN, Washington Examiner, the Washington Post and Bloomberg.

The Washington Post reported earlier on Tuesday that Ricketts is expected to accept the post, citing four people familiar with the matter.

Ricketts and his three siblings are all on the Cubs board, legally known as Chicago Baseball Holdings LLC.

Ricketts was nominated by Trump to be deputy secretary of commerce, but withdrew from consideration for the post a year ago over difficulties complying with financial divestiture rules.
