Fashion brand Zara sells lungi lookalike for Rs 4990

What's more shocking is the amount these lungi-like skirts have been priced at.

Now, it seems, Zara, a Galician fast fashion retailer, got a little too inspired by lungi.

The sarong-style skirt is being sold at Zara's United Kingdom online store at £ 69.99, which is equal to more than 6250 Indian Rupees.

Described as a "check mini skirt", Zara is selling this garment for £69.99, $89.90 and Rs 4990 in the United Kingdom, United States, and India respectively.

This checked midi skirt from the Spanish fashion house's Spring/Summer collection has just hit the store and retails for THB2,990 (US$95).

The description reads on Zara's website, "Flowing skirt with draped detail in the front".

Sherwin-Williams (SHW) Stock Rating Reaffirmed by Barclays
Mariner Wealth Advisors Limited Liability Corp owns 0.03% invested in The Sherwin-Williams Company (NYSE:SHW) for 2,078 shares. Sherwin-Williams (NYSE:SHW) had its price target increased by Royal Bank of Canada to $485.00 in a report issued on Monday.

Repackaging is definitely a part of designing, but what amuses people is the price of the piece of cloth.

In reality, the flowing skirt, which absolutely looks like a lungi, apparently costs around Rs 50-200 in India.

For Indian Twitter users, the sudden glory of lungi, which was last made popular through the song "Lungi dance" from Chennai Express, was a reason for a good laugh.

The lungi is typically worn by men around their waist in India and South East Asian countries.

Many are also comparing the skirt with the Sarong, which is a common wrap donned by Indonesians.
