Trump vulgarity debate has become an 's-show,' senator says

A closer look at opinions on different groups of immigrants to the US shows little public concern over an influx of people from some of the countries Trump reportedly maligned, although Trump voters were roughly twice as likely to say Africa sends too many immigrants than to say the same about Europe. "You have to use your own mind, your own judgment as far as how you feel that he is", said Michelle Toyer, who was marching in Washington.

"I've lost all trust in Durbin", Trump said.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, who also attended, said she takes offense at claims that her boss is racist and couldn't recall exactly what he said.

Durbin confirmed the president's vulgar language on the record, but a pair of senators defended Trump over the weekend, accusing Durbin of making it up.

A handful of senators who attended the meeting, including Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), confirmed that Trump made the comment.

Sanders tells reporters that Trump "hasn't said he didn't use strong language" in the meeting with bipartisan in the heated immigration debate last week.

As the firestorm over Trump's comment began late last week, the White House and Trump's National Security Council provided no guidance to the State Department about what to say to foreign countries who were incensed, said a US official familiar with the conversations between the White House and other federal agencies. "Durbin blew DACA and is hurting our Military". Trump announced past year that he will end the Obama-era program unless lawmakers come up with a solution by March.

"What the president said in that meeting was so very bad and so impactful on so many people, that when he denied saying it, I felt duty-bound to clarify what actually happened", Durbin said.

Durbin said Monday the White House should release whatever recording it might have of the meeting.

What's Comerica Incorporated (CMA) Upside After Making Record High?
Lone Pine Ltd Limited Liability Company accumulated 4.40M shares. 161,770 were accumulated by White Pine Capital Limited Com. Baird restated a "hold" rating and set a $95.00 price objective on shares of Comerica in a research note on Wednesday.

Attention was concentrated among the president's opponents, with more than 70 percent of Clinton voters, but just over half of Trump voters and less than 40 percent of nonvoters and third-party voters saying they were familiar with the remark.

Trump said he had called Republican Senators Tom Cotton and David Perdue and Republican Representative Bob Goodlatte to join him to hear the proposal at the White House, describing them as "smart guys, with more of a conservative bent, more of a bent like I have". "Never said 'take them out.' Made up by Dems".

After the story first broke, some White House staffers reportedly predicted the remark would resonate with Trump's base, much like his earlier attacks on National Football League players.

Trump himself marked the day with a videotaped speech posted on Twitter that alluded to King's celebrated "I Have a Dream" speech. They said Trump expressed a preference for immigrants from countries like Norway, which is overwhelmingly white.

Trump took particular issue with the idea that people who'd fled to the USA after disasters hit their homes in places such as El Salvador, Guatemala and Haiti would be allowed to stay as part of the deal, according to the people briefed on the conversation.

When it came to talk of extending protections for Haitians, Durbin said Trump replied, "We don't need more Haitians'".

"I think this man, this president, is taking us back to another place", said John Lewis, a Georgia congressman who marched with King in the 1960s. "Why don't we get more people from Norway?'" Durbin said.

Democrats have condemned Trump's remarks as "racist", a charge Sanders rejected as "outrageous". She said: "Why did NBC give him a show for a decade on TV. Why did Chuck Schumer and all of his colleagues come and beg Donald Trump for money?"
