AC Milan beats Inter 1-0 to reach Italian Cup semifinals

Patrick Cutrone scored the only goal of the game in extra-time to secure progression for Milan, with Gattuso now hopeful that the derby win can be a "morale booster" for their upcoming Serie A fixtures.

Milan have lost two straight games in Serie A, failing to score against either Hellas Verona or Atalanta, and will now look to end their skid in the Coppa quarterfinal against their local rivals.

Montella was replaced by club legend Gennaro Gattuso, but he has only won one league game - a 2-1 win against Bologna - from his four games in charge.

"I want to see everything we are doing, but above all to put the ball in the net".

Inter grew into the game and spurned a number of changes, including a Suso drive kept out by Handanovic and Mauro Icardi's backwards header which flew inches wide. Some might call me insane for saying that. "In some moments we are not complete and don't give the best individual performances, so if a few of those are lacking, it becomes hard for the whole team".

Inter Milan also invested a lot of cash into new players this summer, but they mostly made shrewd signings and did so without disrupting the balance of the squad.

Snow falls on icy United Kingdom , causing treacherous conditions and travel warnings
Leeds awoke to a blanket of snow today leading to widespread traffic and travel disruption for commuters across the city. An area of heavy rain will extend northeast across the area later on Tuesday, easing from eastern areas on Wednesday.

We are struggling, but this side has quality and was at times missing that bile. The only difference was at the start: at Juve, we were top in December but then had an inexplicable collapse, whereas here we've had problems gelling as a group.

Said Cutrone: "To think that yesterday I was in Primavera (Milan's youth team), now cheering at San Siro with this magnificent crowd is something incredible".

"I want to compliment all the lads".

"You have to blame everyone when you don't win, it's everyone's fault even if maybe we need to be more clinical up front", Candreva said. I won everything as a player, but as a coach I'm well aware that I'm just starting out.

"From this point forward, we're going to get the best out of each and every one of us", he said.
