Light Snow Possible Beginning Wednesday Night

North of Oregon Inlet, a trace of snow is possible, however snow totals for the Eastern North Carolina area may change in the next two days.

A winter weather advisory was issued Tuesday afternoon for several inland counties including Darlington, Marlboro, Dillon and Lee.

A strong cold front moving in Tuesday night will bring snow showers across parts of North Carolina late Tuesday into Wednesday, which could make for a tricky commute Wednesday morning.

The high temperature Wednesday will be in the mid-30s, so whatever snow falls is expected to stick, John and Chris say, so Wednesday morning, roadways could be slick.

"Snow accumulations are now expected to be about 1" or less across the northern areas to a dusting farther south with all precipitation ending during the late afternoon, early evening western areas, and during the evening at the coast", the briefing states.

Wednesday's highs aren't expected to reach above freezing temperatures, while much warmer and sunshine are expected this weekend.

Florence and areas south are forecast to receive no accumulation while areas north of Marion and Loris are forecast to receive less than an inch of accumulation from the storm.

"Variations on moisture availability are causing some spread in the model output".

Snow will quickly exit by early Wednesday afternoon with cold, dry air to follow.
