Forza Horizon 3 Adds Native 4K Support for Xbox One X

Microsoft has announced that Forza Horizon 3 has been kitted out with Xbox One X support, with a free update for the adrenaline-fuelled racer now available to download.

The Xbox exclusive already looked stunning on a normal Xbox One, but the Xbox One X will now take that one step further with the enhancements detailed today by Microsoft.

But that's not all, the update also brings a few visual upgrades such as improved auto reflections, shadow resolutions, improved texture quality for roads and terrain surfaces, and increased levels of detail and draw distances.

Following yesterday's Forza Horizon 3 XB1X patch, various users have reported that the game's is now too dark with HDR enabled.

"These enhancements are all about the visuals", said developer Playground's creative director, Ralph Fulton. In addition, 4K resolution enhancements will be fully compatible with both Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansions for Forza Horizon 3.

An infographic on the Xbox Wire also notes that the Xbox One X version will have faster load times, although there's no specifics on how much faster those load times are.

An excerpt from the statement: "Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One X is powered by the same state-of-the-art ForzaTech engine at the heart of the Forza franchise, also used to develop Forza Motorsport 7 for Xbox One X which brought native 4K resolution racing to the new platform".
