Tom Cable finds a new job back in Oakland

Tom Cable's on the way, albeit in a lesser role.

Cable would be the newest member of the staff for the Raiders, who hired Jon Gruden as head coach on Tuesday.

This will not be Cable's first rodeo with the Raiders.

Here are some of the top moments from Gruden's media session.

He occupied that role in Oakland from 2007 until he assumed the head coach role when Lane Kiffin was sacked five games into the 2008 season.

He followed that feat with the now famous quote, "We're not losers anymore".

Texas A&M Knocks Lady Vols From Unbeaten Ranks
Tennessee wasn't as effective in turning points into turnovers - 15 points from turnovers, compared to Texas A&M's 18. Gilder scored 16 points, Hogg had 13 and Tonny Trocha-Morelos had 10 for Texas A&M, which committed 17 turnovers.

Cable had been the Seahawks' offensive line coach and assistant head coach from 2011 until Wednesday, when he was sacked. Gruden succeeded Jack Del Rio, who was sacked following a season-ending loss to the Los Angeles Chargers that capped a disappointing 6-10 campaign for the Raiders. He was 17-27 in two-plus seasons as Raiders head coach. He also worked extensively with Marshawn Lynch during the rusher's salad days in Seattle. At training camp in 2009, defensive assistant Randy Hanson sustained a broken jaw and accused Cable of assault.

The Raiders finished 8-8 in Cable's final season. Davis docked Cable's pay in relation to that litigation.

Bennett will work with new offensive coordinator Greg Olson and Gruden to help right an offense that struggled to find any consistency in 2017.

It also should be noted that former offensive coordinator Todd Downing's scheme was unsuccessful while utilizing zone blocking, that doesn't mean Cable's would be.

Gruden was on the Green Bay coaching staff from 1992-94 while Bennett was the Packers running back.
