Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead Reportedly Won't Play vs. Titans Due to Injuries

The New England Patriots' running-back-by-committee group will be without two members in Saturday's National Football League divisional round matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

According to ESPN, both running backs veteran running backs Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee are set to miss the contest due to their respective knee injuries.

Both Burkhead and Gillislee practiced in a limited capacity and were listed as questionable. Fellow running back James White was also listed as questionable for the game, but Schefter reports he is expected to play. While Blount signed in Philadelphia, Gillislee joined the Pats after rushing for 577 yards and eight touchdowns with the Buffalo Bills in the 2016 season. He's appeared in nine games and rushed for 383 yards.

It looks like Burkhead will have to wait a little longer, and if New England can't take care of business on Saturday evening, he'll have to wait a whole lot longer than that for his return.
