However, a new Assistant form factor entirely also made its debut this week: smart displays.

Another product category this year was smart speakers which were either powered by Google Assistant or Amazon's Alexa, though it does seem that there were more speakers or devices with Google Assistant integrated into them.

With that being said, according to sources familiar with Google's plans, the company will revamp its existing online store in February. At CES 2018, LG announced several products that feature Google Assistant, though the company's fridges feature Amazon Alexa integration. Along with these devices also a list "smart displays" were displayed. While the intention for attaching a screen to an Echo might have been for the objective of something else entirely, Google thinks they can do one better than Amazon did, with their own Smart Displays running Google Assistant. The company first partnered with Bose to deliver Google Assistant enabled headphones in years past. The new product is a slab-shaped device with speaker grilles on the left side and an 8-inch or 10-inch display on the right. Google will then provide the logic for the smart screens with the incorporation of Google Assistant. YouTube, Google Photos, Duo for video chat - they'll all be featured in each of the smart displays that come to market.

Huffman explained that the incoming smart displays will have the smart assistant built in.

Toyota announced the partnership Tuesday, saying the cloud-based voice assistant would be included in vehicles equipped with the Toyota Entune 3.0 App Suite and Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0, allowing riders to interact with Alexa in the auto. LG also showed off its latest TV models, which are equipped with AI technology. "And in the auto a true automotive assistant, which knows what drivers want and how cars work, is probably a better choice for the "driving" end of that interface than a general goal assistant coming from the home environment".

If that wasn't enough, Google Assistant will also live inside your vehicle. Only Siri missed out on the party, though Apple's assistant tends to be more of a lone wolf, anyway.
