West Ham already looking to cut ties with Chicharito

Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to sign West Ham striker Javier Hernandez.

Chicharito cost the club just £16m from Bayer Leverkusen and many tipped him to become one of the signings of the season, but things simply haven't gone to plan.

Hernandez has scored just four goals in 21 games in all competitions for West Ham this season and is now enduring a miserable run of nine games without scoring.

The 28-year old Ghanaian moved to the London side in 2016 for a then record fee of £20.6m, on the back of a successful debut season in the Premier League with Swansea where he scored 12 goals.

Hernandez has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place since David Moyes came in to replace Slaven Bilic at the London Stadium, even though he was snapped up for £16million.

Moyes' ill-fated spell at Manchester United saw him fail to get the best out of Hernandez - a pattern which appears to be repeating itself.

Moyes has seemingly already identified a new striker, withSky Sports reporting that Russian Federation captain Fyodor Smolov is keen on a move to West Ham and the deal could be done this month.

Sky Sports' near-infallible sources also suggest that Moyes would be willing to let both Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll go for the right price too, which would basically leave Marko Arnautovic doing all the heavy lifting.
