Warner Bros. Dates DC/New Line's 'Shazam!' For Spring 2019

Pictures officially confirmed this week that the release date for the Shazam movie is now set for April 5, 2019 release.

The story sees young Billy Batson, played by Asher Angel, transformed into the super hero Captain Marvel (Levi) when he yells the magic word, "Shazam!".

David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) will direct from a script by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. "It's like Superman meets Big, and that's just so fun". Other cast members include Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen and Jovan Armand as Billy's friends that live in a group home with him. Filming will likely be underway soon if they're planning to hit an April 2019 release date. Zachary Levi recently expressed his wish to have a Wonder Woman cameo in the movie. Levi said. "I get to do my version of Big, basically".

Teacher accused of telling black student he may be lynched
Agee-Bell has had her son pulled from Thole's class. "It was unbelievable (Nathan) was courageous enough to confront the teacher". Agee-Bell told Fox 19 she was shocked. "Today is a day where we can learn the importance of thinking before you speak", she said.

It's worth noting that the release date isn't on Easter weekend, which is when Warner Bros. released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. The movie, which also be shown in IMAX, has that date to itself for now.

That being said, they seem to have a charming take on the material, and with Shazam! opening in April, it's not like Warner Bros' is banking its summer slate on the movie.
