Suter's third-period goal lifts Wild over Blackhawks

The Minnesota Wild overcame a shaky start for a timely victory against a division rival.

Chicago, IL- The Minnesota Wild will return to the Central Division tonight when they land in Chicago for a showdown with the Blackhawks.

Jonas Brodin turned that energy into production midway through the second period, tying the game when his wrist shot from the point flubbed off Tommy Wingels and into the back of the net.

It had the feel of a playoff game in the hours leading up to it for the simple fact that both teams entered the matchup tied with 48 points in the jam-packed Western Conference. It was outshot 14-5 and Chicago got off 41 shot attempts compared to just 11 for the Wild.

"The first period was awful", Suter said.

It's not necessarily the best way to play, but if he keeps calling me or asking if I'm okay to go out there, then you're obviously going to take advantage of that and go out there and play as much as possible.

"We fell off in the second period and we couldn't climb back", said alternate captain Dion Phaneuf. "(The Blackhawks) probably had the puck 15 minutes in our zone, it was embarrassing.

Barcelona's Turan returns to Turkey on loan
Turan, a 30-year-old Turkish worldwide , made the move to Catalonia in 2015 following a hugely-successful 4-year stint with La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid .

"To (the Wild's) credit, I thought in the second and third period, they really buckled down and played really hard". A night after scoring four power-play goals in an 8-2 win over Ottawa, the Hawks came up empty on all three power plays - all of them ugly - including an opportunity late in the third period.

But that's all the Blackhawks could muster. It was the first five-point contest of Kane's career, and the first time he had four assists in one game.

Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks had all their firepower on full display Tuesday night. Falk responded by telling Kane to "shut up", and then pushed him once before the two were separated by coaches.

Chicago's Anton Forsberg made 25 saves in his third straight start.

Seabrook, one of the team's alternate captains, has been with the Blackhawks all 13 seasons of his National Hockey League career and is fifth all time in games played for the franchise. Corey Crawford, the Blackhawks No. 1 goalie, missed his seventh game with an upper-body injury and hasn't resumed skating.

The loss snapped Ottawa's two-game winning streak and was the team's most lopsided loss of the season. The Minnesota Wild have allowed three or more goals in eight of their last 12 games.

"It was good to get out of the first 1-0 and we got some big plays from a couple guys", Dubnyk said.
