Illinois State Police were notified of a pursuit out of Wisconsin involving the bus, police said.

Greyhound officials say they are working to get a relief bus to the scene to pick up passengers and take them to Chicago. The pursuit ended near the exit for Illinois Route 173 near Wadsworth.

Reports of a person with a gun on a Greyhound bus led to a police chase that ended in northern IL late Friday, authorities said.

Approximately 40 passengers aboard the bus were evacuated, police said.
