'Students must make Swami Vivekananda a role model'

There was a lot of propaganda against India in the West that Swami Vivekananda proved false, the PM said. "I want to once again congratulate our scientists". Swami Vivekananda lived a short life but achieved so much in that little time said the Chief Secretary reminding the students about the contributions made by Swami Vivekananda in India's freedom struggle, towards poverty reduction and addressing social issues and caste discriminations. He also said that the government wants to make the youth job creators.

January 12 is celebrated as National Youth Day in India on the birthday of one of the greatest spiritual leaders Swami Vivekananda.

The observation was graced by M Asnikumar Singh, Vice Chairman, Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA), Th Prameshwor Singh, Executive Director, NEILIT, Imphal, Mahesh Bhagavath, organizing secretary (Mizoram, Manipur), ABVP, Dr Chithung Mary Thomas, Associate Professor, DM College of Commerce, Imphal and Dr Lamalu Thaimei, Assistant Professor, Manipur University as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Others worth a mention in the current list are West Coast 9/1, Hofburg 14/1 and the hugely popular Accelerate, also trading 14/1. Mubtaahij made up the places but the victor was never in trouble, delighting followers who had him backed at a stunning 8/1.

The objective of organising the NYF is to provide a platform to bring the youth of the country together in an attempt to provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents in various activities.

The entire programme is created to enhance the awareness about government initiatives and exhorting the youth to express their perceptions and concepts of how to make their initiatives more effective.

Around 5000 volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan from all parts of the country along with local accredited youth will participate in the festival. He took Twitter to pay tribute to Swami Vivekananda.
