Man City prepared to walk away from Alexis Sanchez deal

On Thursday, the news broke that Manchester United are ready to thwart their cross-town rivals Manchester City, in their bid to land Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

"Do we find the same player, certainly not?"

The newspaper says Bordeaux are willing to sell if £45m is put on the table this month and Arsene Wenger may now be tempted to push through a deal for Malcom before the transfer window closes.

Manchester City appeared to be in the driving seat to sign the Chile worldwide but reports on Thursday revealed that Man United had tabled an improved offer. He also said the club is not in a "bidding war". "We are not in that".

Asked about the matter at his latest press conference, Guardiola said: "I understand completely this question, I understand you are doing your job, but you know my answer. Normally you should stay until the end of the season but we will see". They are offering Arsenal £40 million including Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Mourinho also wasn't keen to speak about the Sanchez reports, claiming it would be disrespectful to talk about another club's player. I think Sanchez provides the quality, the goals and the world-class ability he has got.

Pep Guardiola has refused to discuss the ongoing speculation linking Manchester City with Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez. He played for Udinese from 2006 to 2011, while going on loan to Colo-Colo and River Plate.

Conte, who revealed he attempted to sign Sanchez while at Juventus, believes the 29-year-old is one of the top players in the world and admits he is a big fan of the former Barcelona forward.

A reunion between Sanchez and his former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola at City has always been touted, with the Premier League leaders reported to have tabled a £20million for the Arsenal star, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Phil Neville has noted that Alexis Sanchez would be an unbelievable signing for Manchester United, insisting his arrival could have a similar impact to that of Robin van Persie in 2012.
