Here's why the Golden Globes was super important

She is the first Black woman to own and produce her own talkshow, a self-made billionaire, and now the first woman to receive the Cecil B. DeMille award.

"Look, it's ridiculous - and I get that", said Brad Anderson, Barack Obama's 2012 Iowa campaign director, who supports the idea of Winfrey running.

In fact, the full list of nominees at the Golden Globes in general is overwhelmingly white - and of 26 categories, we counted only four awards that went to people of color: Del Toro, Brown, Ansari, and Winfrey.

During the Golden Globes, Oprah Winfrey gave a powerful speech as she accepted the Cecil B DeMille award, hinting that she may run for president.

For Margaret Atwood and all of the women who came before her and after her, who were courageous enough to speak out against intolerance and injustice and fight for equality and freedom, we no longer live in the blank white spaces at the edge of print.

CNN reported Monday that Winfrey is "actively thinking" about a presidential run, citing two of her friends that the network didn't identify.

But according to Winfrey's behind-the-scenes Instagram videos, the speech was not ready until that afternoon.

LAPD Opens Sexual Assault Investigation Into Steven Seagal
Both Simons and Dutch former model Faviola Dadis have filed reports about Seagal to the LAPD in the last month. Seagal did not immediately return a request for comment. "But no one talks about the freeze".

"A new day is on the horizon!"

"But in terms of where she stands on a number of positions, I would find a lot of problems with that", Sanders said. "I don't think she had any intention (of declaring)".

"So, it wasn't a hard choice to pick black even though I would've picked red if someone would've asked me, I would've made all the women to wear red because I think it is the strongest color".

The powerful address to Hollywood's gathered aristocracy by the actor, entrepreneur and campaigner prompted speculation about a run for president against Donald Trump in 2020 after she spoke out against sexual harassment and in favour of press freedom.

Also worth noting: Her longtime partner Stedman Graham, told the Los Angeles Times Sunday night that "It's up to the people..." "She would absolutely do it". As a victim of sexual abuse herself, she discussed the importance of women coming forward with their experiences of sexual assault and the #MeToo movement.

In fact, not openly condemning her father and working for him in his administration actually makes her an accomplice to his alleged crimes. Over the course of a few months, hundreds of fearless women came forward and told their stories of sexual misconduct in the workplace.

"For too long women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men", said Winfrey. "US women should shine, be colourful, and sparkle", she wrote.
