New TV Series To Start Watching This 2018

Earlier this week they issued a statement via the fashion house to media outlets which said they did not "authorise [or have] any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series" about Gianni Versace's assassination in 1997.

The statement concludes by praising the fashion designer while further insisting that American Crime Story does not have the family's blessing.

The series had to be considered "an act of fiction", it said, given it drew inspiration from a book that was not authorised - Maureen Orth's "Vulgar favours".

The Versace family has been in a war of words with FX and Ryan Murphy over the upcoming show, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. Ryan Myrphy has based his interpretation of the incidents partly on Maureen Orth's 1999 book called Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in US History.

Orth, states Versace, "in making her lurid claims", ignores "contrary information provided by members" of the designer's family, who "lived and worked closely with him and were in the best position to know the facts of his life".

A new statement released Wednesday shows that things are still contentious between the family and the show's creators.

The family then condemned the TV series in its entirety for taking Orth's book as a work of nonfiction.

However, it is unclear how Mr Puigdemont would lead the regional government from Brussels as he could be arrested if he returns to Spain .

The statement concludes by noting that Gianni was a "brave and honest man" and that the family would have no further comment on the matter.

Apparently, the family of Gianni Versace had no involvement in how The Assassination of Gianni Versace is going to unfold on FX, and so the series should be regarded as fiction by viewers.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story was a massive hit for Murphy. "Vulgar Favors was acclaimed and embedded for nearly 20 years now so we stand behind Marren and we stand behind the book", he insisted.

"Now I just hope that all the love that I put into that performance - I do love her and all the people that work with her - and respect and admiration, all of that is there, I hope she will see that", the actress shares. FX released a statement saying they "stand by the meticulous reporting of Ms. Orth", and Murphy said the book "has been vetted for nearly two decades".

Catch the premiere of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story on January 17 at 10 p.m. ET on Fox.

Murphy also pointed out that the vice president and chief designer of the Versace Group, Donatella Versace made a complimentary gesture towards one of the drama anthology's cast members, Penelope Cruz, who portrays her character in the series.
