Liverpool: Van Dijk not daunted by huge transfer fee

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk insists the £75m price tag is a big compliment to his hard work, and does not make him nervous.

The 26-year-old made 80 appearances in two-and-a-half seasons at Southampton and was a major target for leading Premier League clubs last summer.

Redknapp however feels that Klopp's side did the right thing to sign Van Dijk, who is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League and he feels that they are now likely to end up finishing in the top four this season. However, their resolve to get Van Dijk remained and the defender stayed patient before eventually signing for a larger fee of £75million.
