CES 2018: The future of technology is on display at Las Vegas

Photos coming out of Las Vegas show CES attendees testing out the latest gadgets.

Last year, Samsung and LG both showcased refrigerators at CES that gave you the ability to see what was inside.

Cars drive a lot of the show's buzz with new technology aimed at improving safety and in-car entertainment.

We fully expect to see Google Assistant showing up in almost every corner of the show this year, but this level of presence from Google is a bit stunning.

What does it mean for a kitchen to be smart in 2017?

"Rival voice assistants such Apple's Siri, Google Home, Microsoft's Cortana and Samsung's Bixby will be on show, but will significantly lag behind Amazon's Alexa, which will be the dominant platform for voice at CES 2018", he said. Licensing and the promise of signing people up for services like Amazon Prime or YouTube Red are a huge potential revenue stream for these companies.

CES 2018 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It can be hard to think about robots without wondering how automation will affect how we work, but the robots coming to CES aren't ones looking to replace people.

"These devices are growing rapidly with lots of consumer interest", said Mike Vorhaus, president of Magid Advisors consultancy. It goes hand-in-hand with smart home products, seeing as you're having more connections to your WiFi network than you previously had, which can bog down the network and cause your network to slow down.

On the other side, a stock may be considered to be in a downtrend if trading below the moving average and sloping downward. Investors may be seeking to get some clarity about a certain stock's history, and eventually try to project the future.

The sports zone will bring together trends that have appeared at CES over the years: wearables, augmented reality, sensors and apps for quantifying physical activity. And that's why you may see more products that have no real application for security, but will focus on home. This year, as a result of AI, voice ports, and innovative detectors, robots are inching closer to getting used.

One of the stars of the show is this little robot.

Also expect a few brands to demo 8K TVs.

The very first highlight of the event is Buddy, a personal robot. "At what point do these conversations turn into relationships?"

Google has usually maintained a low-profile role during the CES events in the past. That is because the focus has changed from the most recent auto design and the way in which they drive to the tech inside. The only thing keeping usage at a low level is user comfort.

Genuinely innovative gadgets that are destined for mass adoption are the exception, not the rule at CES.

The meeting of tech and transport still has many bumps to overcome, but this year is expected to offer a more realistic vision.

5G to march ahead- It will provide more than just speedy download speeds. The event location will be the World Trade Center Las Vegas.
