Battalion 1944 Beta & Early Access Release Dates Confirmed, Alongside New Gameplay Trailer

Battalion 1944, the Kickstarted competitive shooter inspired by old-school games such as Call of Duty 2, Enemy Territory, Quake and others, finally has an early access release date: February 1.

Gamers will get a chance to play the studio's first first-person shooter (for free) before Battalion 1944 hits Steam on February 1. As an "influencer", the closed beta will begin January 19 6pm GMT and end January 20 6am GMT. But now the studio is letting its Kickstarter and Humble backers, along with a select few who register for the beta, test Battalion and its servers before the shooter's Early Access debut. You can get a glimpse of what the gameplay is like with the Early Access trailer below. The developer did confirm, however, that these will include domination on the Manorhouse V1 map, and the competitive Wartide mode on the map Liberation. "It's one last chance for us to test out our wares with FPS players before we make the leap to Early Access".

Now if you're one of those people absolutely abhors Early Access but you still want to support the game, you can wait for the game to graduate from Early Access once the multiplayer is finalized and version 1.0 readies for public launch over the next few months, so expect the full version of DUSK to arrive just before summer.

Getting to grips with the intense nature of the Second World War is something that's been key to our process. "We've looked to bed the play down in maps that are both competitive and authentic, for which our trips to Normandy proved immensely useful".

Festival head Kevin Lyman had some kind words for Em, recalling the rapper's former stint on the Vans Warped Tour back in 1999. Beyonce was announced long ago after she pulled out of headlining last year's event due to being pregnant with twins .

If you purchase the Early Access version, you will also get all DLC content for free.

Battalion 1944 will retail for £11.99, which is less than the bottom tier during the game's Kickstarter campaign.
