Bates-Diop powers Ohio State in 91-69 rout of Maryland

Bates-Diop powers Ohio State in 91-69 rout of Maryland

Maryland (14-4), one of the teams tied for fourth, faces a pivotal stretch with back-to-back road games against Ohio State and MI and a home game against Minnesota.

A season-boosting victory behind it, Ohio State basketball moves onto a different challenge: the schedule.

Keita Bates-Diop was 6 for 8 from beyond the 3-point line and totaled 26 points in leading Ohio State to a 91-69 rout of Maryland on Thursday night. "We're starting guys that should be bench guys, and we're playing guys that shouldn't be playing right now". The Buckeyes lead ballooned to 22-2 with help from two straight three-pointers from Bates-Diop and Andrew Dakich heating up from there as well.

Dixon had his best season to date in 2017, hauling in 18 of 31 targets for 422 yards and eight touchdowns as Ohio State's primary big play threat.

Blackhawks acquire Anthony Duclair from Coyotes
Just a week ago, The Athletic reported that Duclair requested a trade from the Coyotes , which came to pass on Wednesday night. Clendening returns to the Blackhawks after being drafted by Chicago in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft.

Ohio State pushed the pace with 12 points off of fast breaks versus an opposing 5 points off of fast breaks. "I think he has improved his game", he said of the forward.

"I think he's finally healthy". Our guys did a great job sharing the ball.

"I think it was just a little bit of everything".

The roster was thin in the summer when Holtmann replaced 13-year coach Thad Matta, and the Buckeyes were expected to limp through a disappointing season. They handed Wisconsin its worst loss in the history of the Kohl Center, erased a 20-point deficit to beat Michigan, won at Iowa, and crushed No. 1 Michigan State on Sunday. While the coaching staff and entire team are the reason why that's the case, Bates-Diop has put the team on his back and has a chance to lead the Buckeyes to surprise not only the Big Ten, but all of college basketball as well. "No matter if we are 5-0 (in the conference), we're going to continue to play with that chip on our shoulder". I recruited him, I liked him as a freshman, I really did.
