Juventus join the race for Ozil's signature

Recent reports have made it clear that the German is being chased by both Manchester United, while Jose Mourinho is said to be preoccupied by PSG's interest in the 29-year-old.

Manchester United meanwhile find themselves eight points above Ozil's current club Arsenal at present, and a move to join Mourinho would mean a four-hour relocation, rather than a long-distance move to Italy.

The Gunners' Premier League rivals Manchester United have always been the favourites to acquire the German's services, especially given the player's previous working relationship with Jose Mourinho.

United had been expected to make a bid of around £35m for Ozil in this transfer window, in order to secure a move before the Germany international's contract expires next summer.

And Telefoot say Moura has attracted interest from Bordeaux, Nantes, Nice and Real Betis but the forward wants to join United. PSG star Lucas Moura is keen to join United, French outlet Telefoot claim.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Gunners' playmaker due to the manager and player's previous relationship during their time at Real Madrid together.

The Corriere dello Sport say that Juventus are ready to pounce in case United are unable to seal the deal.

The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer.

Ozil could the second Germany global from the Premier League that Juventus move to sign this window, with Liverpool's Emre Can expected to seal an agreement to move to Turin with his contract also winding down.
