Figure Skater Performs to 'Turn Down For What' at National Championships

Margot Robbie is chasing Golden Globes glory for I, Tonya, a riveting account of figure skating's most high-profile rivalry that's made every 2017 best movie list.

Yesterday (January 4), he turned the rink at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose into a 2013 wedding dancefloor, opting to perform his routine to the tune of Lil Jon and DJ Snake's ubiquitous hit "Turn Down for What". Though an unexpected combo, he absolutely nailed it. Needless to say, Jimmy is making us see figure skating in a whole new light, and we're totally here for it - along with the rest of the internet, apparently. The Lil' Jon bit starts at about 2:30.

"Figure skating is an extreme sport", Ma told USA TODAY Sports as he headed down a corridor in the arena, minutes after competing. "Get older people hyped and for younger people to think it is cool".

James Madison Prepares For National Championship Repeat
Stick couldn't beat James Madison with his arm when the Dukes slowed North Dakota State's run-first offense last season. Houston speaks from experience with his team a win from an undefeated season as the defending champion.

It was only recently that skaters had the opportunity to choose songs with lyrics and Ma is one of many that chose modern music.

Ma, 22, appears to be something of a hip-hop fan. Last year, he performed to an instrumental medley of Eminem songs.

Unfortunately, the indisputably lit performance only won him 11th place.
