Chelsea 'want Diego Simeone this summer'

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's future continues to be the subject of intense speculation with reports in The Sun today suggesting that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been lined up as his replacement at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea reportedly have no ambitions to sack Conte regardless of where they finish this season, but a number of issues have arisen in recent months that could see the club and Conte mutually agree to end their relationship.

Conte has clashed with the Chelsea hierarchy over the club's transfer policy, and the 48-year-old was unhappy with their recruitment in the summer.

But, with the speculated sale of Griezmann this summer, Simeone could be on the lookout for a new club.

However, the former Argentina midfielder may prefer to move to Italy, as he speaks very little English.

Diego Simeone - who is under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2020 - has made no secret of his desire to take over in Milan, where he played.

Atletico are second in LaLiga this season, nine points behind leaders Barcelona after 17 games.

But they are also looking at Conte, who wants to stay in club management rather than return to the Italian national team if he leaves London.

The Times has claimed that the Atletico Madrid boss has been installed as the Blues' first choice option to replace Conte if he opts to leave and return to his homeland.

Apart from that, PSG is on the lookout for a new manager and have shortlisted Antonio Conte for the same.
